内容简介：I will review the basics of symplectic geometry and Hamiltonian actions. Then we introduce  GIT and symplectic reduction with lots of examples. We will also sketch the proof of the Kempf-Ness theorem and discuss the infinite analog in gauge theory and special metrics, and applications to various moduli spaces.
